Pretty good navigator
This is my first GPS. My decision to buy the Garmin 265wt refurbished was based on the reviews on Amazon for different manufacturers and models. The price was just right. I live in NYC and usually travel through the Catskills and western Massachusetts. It has been a timesaver when it guided me through a snow storm on the country roads of Hunter Mountain. There were times I had no idea whether to bear right or left and the GPS gave me enough warning and enough indication on the display.
I only disagreed with the GPS as to how to get out of the city. It kept recommending a route by the George Washington Bridge that by experience I know to be jammed with cars. As I ignored each exit command, it kept recalculating to find the next exit to lead me back to the GWB. Eventually it recalculated to a better route.
No problem with accessing the satellites. The display is pretty informative. Great value for the money.

Very Happy with my 265WT Refurbished
I read all the reviews before purchasing the 265WT Refurbished. I am pleased I bought the unit that meets my needs! It is easy to understand, but does need the right touch for typing in the addresses. I finally figured out you hit the bottom of the letters, after eraseing a lot at first. I had been using my Verizon phone for my navigation and decided that the $10 a month was just one more thing to pay! The unit does take me off roads sometimes on a route I would not choose when I know where I am going, but it always gets you there. I do find that it is routing me around traffic and that is a plus, but it took me a while to trust that IT knows best. The screen is beautifil and visible at night as well as day with no problems. The maps seem to be accurate and it gives you plenty of time to change lanes and get where you need to be for the next turn. I would highly recommend the weighted dash mount as it works great to position the unit for easy visibility. I have not tried the blue tooth or other features, so cannot comment. This is a real bang for the buck and you do not have to be a techie to use it!
