Garmin Nuvi 265WT Refurbished
I've never owned a GPS before this one and purchased Garmin Nuvi 265WT Refurbished at amazon after reading the reviews. I wanted one now since I am moving to Florida and find myself having to travel to both the East and Gulf coasts. The only thing I found quirky was that it thought I was still in FL when I got back to NY, but we got it straighten out. It also navigated me through some questionable neighborhoods in my area, but how is it to know? Garmin 265WT recalculated quickly after I didn't go the way suggested. We also have been going to new restaurants during Restaurant Week and though I've lived here all my life I don't know my way around. All my driving has always included driving past a turn or the destination itself turning around and going back. No more. It hasn't steered me wrong yet.
I've used the bluetooth with my Samsung SH-A707 with success. I know its an older phone -- but if something works great for me I keep it. I'll be keeping this GPS for awhile too.

Very useful. Great 1st GPS. Everything I expected and more. Not sure what other glitzy nifty gadgets more expensive units come with, but this GPS helps get from A to B perfectly. The traffic updates are great also. You can get traffic information by simply charging the unit as the charge has the traffic receiver integrated in it. Easy to mount on your dash, or use the suction cup to stick to the front window.
The touchscreen has big bold letters that are easy to find. Garmin 265WT does lag a bit, but its easy to get used to. The auto-fill function is pretty neat in case you don't know how to spell a street/city. After a few letters it brings up matching names. If the city/street you're looking for isn't on the list- then you've already started misspelling it. THankfully the auto-fill feature comes up after about the 3rd or 4th letter- so your margin for error is small.
Went with the Garmin Nuvi 265WT model because MSN will be discontinuing their service on the other models (such as 285WT) whereas this model is powered by Garmin and I don't have to worry about an expiring services. Easy to read map. Turn-by-Turn Voice directions. Touch screen. Practical. Portable. Perfect!

Nuvi 265WT - Great value & performance
The Nuvi 265WT is an excellent GPS. It has many feature that are usually found in units costing several hundred dollar more. I was able to pick one up for $160 from Amazon with free shipping. (I now have purchased 4 of these units for myself, kids, & parents...)
The unit is extremely easy & intuitive to use, so much so that I purchased the latest one for my parents, who are in their eighties. My father was able to master all the basic functions and is able to program addresses & routes into the unit with about an hour of me working with him. He especially likes the Bluetooth connection as it makes it much easier for them to use their cell phone while traveling. Both of my parents really like this technology, especially when they are driving after dark.
I have used this unit all over the USA and have been very impressed with it's accuracy and directional guidance. It has found some pretty out of the way places. Overall, this is a great value in GPS units.
